Shark Targets Style-Conscious Homes With Designer-Inspired Cleaning Range
Household appliances have increasingly become part of interior design conversations, and Shark is the latest brand to lean into the trend with the launch of a premium cleaning collection that places aesthetics alongside performance.
The new Shark Home Luxe Collection introduces a selection of vacuum cleaners designed to blend more seamlessly into contemporary living spaces. Rather than relying on the industrial look traditionally associated with cleaning equipment, the range embraces muted tones, refined finishes and carefully considered detailing intended to complement modern home décor.
The collection debuts with two products: the Shark PowerDetect Speed Cordless Vacuum Clean and Empty System and the Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal 2-In-1 Vac and Mop robotic cleaner.
According to Shark, the move reflects growing consumer interest in appliances that not only perform efficiently but also contribute to the overall appearance of the home. The company, which is recognised as a leading vacuum brand in the United States, believes appliance design is becoming an increasingly important purchasing consideration.
The robotic PowerDetect UV Reveal combines vacuuming and mopping functions while using ultraviolet light technology to identify dried spills and hidden messes that may otherwise escape detection. The machine is available in several new finishes, including Espresso, Deep Harbour and Ivory, while Evergreen is offered exclusively online.
The colour palette has been selected to help the device integrate more naturally into living environments where charging docks and cleaning stations are often visible.
Alongside the robotic model, Shark has expanded the aesthetic focus to its cordless PowerDetect Speed vacuum. Weighing approximately 3.17 kilograms, the unit features a self-emptying dock and sensor technology capable of automatically adjusting performance across different floor surfaces. Shark states the vacuum can operate for up to 60 minutes on a single charge under optimal conditions.

While traditional vacuum cleaners are typically stored away between uses, Shark has introduced a range of furniture-inspired finishes for the cordless model, including Walnut, Oatstone and Harbour Slate. Sagewood is available as an online-exclusive option.
The launch comes as appliance manufacturers continue searching for new ways to differentiate their products in a competitive market. Since Dyson transformed the category with bold colours and distinctive industrial styling, brands across the sector have increasingly explored how design can influence purchasing decisions.
Rather than following the bright contrasts favoured by some competitors, Shark has adopted a softer and more understated approach that aligns with current interior design trends.
The company also released research suggesting consumer attitudes towards appliance colours are evolving. The findings indicate that more than half of American households are moving away from the neutral “millennial grey” aesthetic that has dominated interiors over the past decade.

The research further found that a growing number of consumers believe appliance colour plays an important role in shaping the overall atmosphere of a home. As a result, industry observers expect more manufacturers to introduce broader colour selections and design-focused finishes across a range of domestic appliances in the coming months.
With home technology increasingly visible in open-plan living spaces, brands appear keen to ensure that practicality and style go hand in hand.
