Shamoon Out At PAC, As Vox Hangs For Sale Sign Out According To Analysts
Peter Shamoon (seen above) who exited Qualifi in a blaze of controversy along with his co accused Phil Hawkins who was flicked 18 months ago, is out at the Premium Audio Company, whose owners are also jettisoning the Jamo and Energy brands as they desperately seek to stem losses at the US Company.
We also understand that the Premium Audio Company and Vox International are potentially up for sale.
ChannelNews understands that the brands have been sold to a Chinese Company Rayleigh Labs who has partnered with Cinemaster to acquire the brands.
Rayleigh Labs is a Shenzhen, China-based R&D and manufacturing company that is headed up by founder and CEO Thomas Li.
Cinemaster, is a distributor of audio products in in China while Rayleigh Labs has been manufacturing product for Vox International for several years
It appears that the three Companies are collaborating to ensure a seamless transition in the interest of retailers who sell the brand.
In Australia Jamo was distributed for many years by Qualifi who business was sold to Sound United that now operates as Masimo Consumer.
Jamo was founded in 1968 in Denmark and at one time, with more than 400 employees, it was Europe’s largest speaker manufacturer, and was a foundation client of Qualifi.
In 1998 the Danish Company shipped more than 11.5 million units worldwide. In 2002, a turnaround specialist was brought in due to deteriorating sales, VOXX, acquired Jamo in 2005.
Recently Vox is a US share listed Company whose shares have fallen almost 35% during the past 12 months recently issues a press release claiming “VOXX International Corporation Announces Strategic Alternatives Process to Maximize Valuation.” This release noted that the company was “conducting an exploration of strategic alternatives in connection with its ongoing effort to maximize shareholder value.”
There was no mention of the sale.
ChannelNews understands that Vox International is considering a potential sale of the Company, a sale of segments, operational improvements, or other strategic transactions.”
This has fuelled speculation that has almost doubled the value of VOXX stock this week which has risen 91% during the past five days.
