Sennheiser Enters High-End Wireless Headphone Market With New HDB 630
Sennheiser has entered the crowded high-end wireless headphone market with the launch of the HDB 630, a premium over-ear model promising true hi-res audio and 60 hours of battery life.
Priced at A$999 and launching October 21, the HDB 630 includes a USB-C transmitter dongle for true high-resolution playback.
Building on the chassis of the company’s popular Momentum 4, the HDB 630 features custom 42mm dynamic drivers built at Sennheiser’s Irish facility and tuned for precision rather than bass-heavy flash.
They deliver 24-bit/96kHz playback over USB-C or Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive, ensuring hi-res clarity whether wired or wireless.

Recognising that most smartphones don’t natively support hi-res Bluetooth, Sennheiser bundles its BTD 700 USB-C dongle, instantly enabling aptX Adaptive on phones, tablets or laptops. It’s a smart inclusion that extends hi-res support to roughly 80% of devices.
Battery life is rated at an impressive 60 hours with active noise cancellation, with a 10-minute quick charge providing around seven hours of listening.
Adaptive Noise Cancellation and transparency mode handle noisy environments and conversations on the go, while protein leatherette ear cushions from IDEATEX promise comfort for long sessions.

The headphones also debut Smart Control Plus, Sennheiser’s revamped companion app offering studio-level customisation.
Users can now shape their sound with a full parametric EQ, complete with adjustable filters, bandwidth (Q) and A/B comparisons. A new Crossfeed mode, inspired by Sennheiser’s flagship HE 1 system, blends left and right channels for a more natural, speaker-like presentation.
Included in the box are a hard-shell travel case, USB-C and analog audio cables, an airline adapter and the BTD 700 dongle.
With the HDB 630, Sennheiser is taking direct aim at rivals like Sony’s WH-1000XM6, Bose QuietComfort Ultra and Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2.
