Samsung’s One UI 9 Update Lands On Galaxy Z Fold 6 And Z Flip 6
Samsung has started rolling out its Android 17-based One UI 9 update to more of its older flagship phones, with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 among the latest devices to receive the new software.
The stable update is initially rolling out in Samsungās home market of South Korea, where it is also becoming available for the Galaxy S24 series. It follows the earlier release of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S25 families, as well as Samsungās newer foldable devices.
A wider rollout covering markets including the US and Europe is expected to follow, although Samsung has yet to confirm an exact timetable.
For Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 owners, One UI 9 is arriving with firmware build EZIH. Users already enrolled in the One UI 9 beta reportedly face a relatively small download of around 408MB, while those upgrading directly from the previous stable version will need to download approximately 3.5GB.
Itās a similar story for the Galaxy S24 series. Beta users are receiving an update of around 500MB, while the jump from the previous stable software requires a much larger 3.8GB download. The S24 release also includes Samsungās September 5, 2026 security patch.

One UI 9 brings many of the features Samsung has already introduced on its newer Galaxy devices. These include expanded Galaxy AI capabilities, additional Quick Panel customisation options, privacy and security improvements, upgrades to Samsung Health and a range of refinements across Samsungās apps and interface.
The rollout means Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 owners are now starting to get access to Samsungās latest Android 17 experience. While availability is currently limited to South Korea, Samsung typically expands major One UI updates to additional regions following the initial domestic release.
