Samsung To Extend Galaxy S26 AI Features To Older Models After User Feedback
Samsung is preparing a software update that will bring some of its newest Galaxy AI capabilities to earlier devices, rather than keeping them exclusive to the Galaxy S26 range. The move suggests a shift in strategy following strong reactions from users after the latest flagship launch.
Shortly after the Galaxy S26 series was unveiled, there were indications that several new software tools might not make their way to the Galaxy S25 line-up. That possibility drew criticism from the community, with many users questioning why recent flagship devices would miss out on features tied to the same ecosystem. In response, a moderator on Samsung’s official community forums acknowledged the feedback and confirmed that selected updates are now planned for older models.
Among the features confirmed so far is AI-based call screening, which was introduced with One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S26 devices. This tool is expected to arrive on the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra through a future update, marking one of the first confirmed additions making the jump between generations.

While full details remain limited, Samsung has indicated that more than one feature is in development for the update. The company has referenced additional enhancements and usability changes, suggesting a broader set of improvements beyond call screening alone.
There is still no official timeline for when One UI 8.5 will roll out, but it is expected to be the next major software release for supported devices. For now, it appears that at least some of the Galaxy S26’s headline AI tools will not remain exclusive, with Samsung opting to bring parts of the experience to its previous flagship series.
