Samsung Strike Back With New Tablet, Due For MWC Reveal

With the Galaxy S8 still waiting in the wings, it looks like Samsung are readying a new tablet for this year’s Mobile World Congress.

The company sent out the following teaser to press organizations and outlets attending the event.

The image doesn’t give away much but based on the width of the design shown, it’s likely a confirmation that the company’s 2017 flagship tablet will be on display at the Barcelona-based tradeshow.

Some reports say the device will feature a 9.6-inch 2048 x 1536 display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, and 4GB of RAM and be called the Galaxy Tab S3.

It remains unknown, yet possible, whether it will incorporate some of the foldable OLED technology that major tech companies are said to be preparing for consumer products this year.

However, given the events of the last six months, it’s not impossible that Samsung could look to reset at least part of the conversation with a new sub-brand.

Beyond this new tablet, Samsung’s 2017 line-up is looking like a strong one.

The company is expected to announce its Galaxy S8 handset on March 29th and then roll out the next-generation smartphone for worldwide release on April 21.

Samsung’s DJ Koh also indicated that we haven’t seen the last of the Note either.
