Samsung Roll Out New AKG Headphones, But Who Will Launch Them In OZ?

Samsung Electronics launched a new line-up of AKG headphone here in the USA, what’s not known at this stage is whether Samsung or Harman will launch the range in Australia.

I have tried the and they are brilliant,20 hours battery life, noise cancelling and crystal clear sound which is not surprising from a Company that has spent years producing headphones for professional musicians. In the US they are selling for $349 with a $599 price tipped for Australia due to a poor exchange rate and GST.

The other models include the Y500 and Y100 both are wireless models. The on-ear Y500 feature Multi-Point Connectivity, allowing users to pair two Bluetooth connected devices at the same time. They also automatically pause content when the headphones are taken off, and resume when placed back over the ears. Battery life is listed at 33 hours.

The Y100, meanwhile, are in-ear headphones designed to be light and durable, with a battery life of eight hours.

Both the Y500 and Y100 feature an Ambient Aware button that enables users to adjust the amount of external noise they hear.

The Y500 and Y100 are currently available, and the N700NC will ship later this year.

AKG is a Harman brand, now owned by Samsung.
