Samsung Electronics has been crowned the number one TV manufacturer in the world for the 15th consecutive year.
According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung scooped up 31.8 per cent of the global TV market share by revenue in Q4 2020 and retained the largest annual category market share by revenue in 2020 – with 31.9 per cent.
Samsung sold 7.79 million units of QLED TVs in 2020, up from 5.32 million units in 2019. In the fourth quarter alone, global TV shipments jumped to a record high of 70.24 million units.
Samsung says the South Korean company’s growth across its Visual Display Business coupled with its popular QLEd portfolio and ultra-large screen segment over 75’’ helped it retain its impressive market share for the 15th year running.

Samsung expects to maintain its industry-leading market position in 2021 with the introduction of new products and the expansion of core products – including its Neo QLED line-up.
The brands following Samsung in TV global market share have not been specified, however TCL has been named number two over the last several years.
