Samsung Launches Galaxy A27 5G With Long-Term Software Support
Samsung has expanded its mid-range smartphone range with the global release of the Galaxy A27 5G, introducing upgraded performance, an improved display and one of the longest software support commitments available in its class.
The new handset succeeds the Galaxy A26 5G and is aimed at users looking for premium features without paying flagship prices.
At the front of the device is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display offering Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 1,400 nits for improved outdoor visibility and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, helping improve durability against scratches and accidental drops.
Powering the Galaxy A27 5G is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, built on a 4-nanometre manufacturing process. The phone is available with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, while a microSD card slot supports expansion of up to 2TB.
The device launches with Android 16 and Samsung’s One UI 8.5 interface. Samsung has committed to providing six generations of Android and One UI upgrades, along with six years of security updates, extending the usable life of the handset well beyond many competing devices.

Security is further enhanced through Samsung Knox and Knox Vault, which provide hardware-based protection for sensitive information such as passwords and encryption keys.
Photography duties are handled by a triple rear camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro lens. A 12-megapixel front-facing camera is included for selfies and video calls.
Battery capacity remains at 5,000mAh, with support for 25W fast charging to reduce downtime between charges.
Other features include stereo speakers, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, hybrid dual SIM capability, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and IP64-rated dust and water resistance.
Samsung will offer the Galaxy A27 5G in Black, Blue, Light Green and Light Pink finishes.
Based on the announced US price of US$349.99, Australian pricing is expected to start at approximately A$540, although Samsung has not yet confirmed local pricing or availability.
The smartphone is scheduled to begin rolling out in selected international markets from 3 July.
