Samsung Launch Thinnest Tablet In Oz For $649

In the wake of the Galaxy Fold debacle and launch cancellation, Samsung has announced the Australian launch of its thinnest tablet yet, the Galaxy Tab S5e, and the family-friendly Galaxy Tab A 10.1.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is the successor to last year’s S4 with slightly downgraded specs and a more budget-friendly price point.

It forgoes the S Pen and headphone jack of the S4 but has been dubbed Samsung’s thinnest and most portable tablet yet at only 5.5mm thin and weighing in at 400g.

The Tab S5e offers a 10.5-inch Edge to Edge Display, narrow bezels and Super AMOLED screen with AKG/Dolby ATMOS quad speakers with auto rotate stereo tech that it claims optimises sound depending on how the device is being held.

It runs on a Snapdragon 670 processor, up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage with WiFi and 4G variants available.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1, as its name suggests, measures 10.1-inch widescreen display that boasts up to 13 hours of video.

Designed for the family, it comes with Family Share feature and Samsung Kids Home built in which allow users to share reminders and galleries with the family and create a safe environment for children surfing the web.

The Tab A 10.1 features a Dolby Atmos dual speaker system — downgraded from the quad system of the Tab A 10.5.

However, it retains the dual-lens rear camera (8MP and 5MP) and the same processor as its predecessor.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e ($649) and the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 ($349) will be available from April 24 at major retailers and Samsung.com.au.
