A fresh leak suggests Samsung could be moving away from the conservative colour schemes that have defined many of its flagship smartphones, with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 reportedly arriving in a brighter and more distinctive selection of finishes.

According to renders published by Android Headlines, the foldable is expected to launch in Cream, Graphite and Lavender through standard retail channels. While those colours are relatively familiar, the report also claims Samsung will offer a fourth finish called Pistachio, available exclusively through its official online store.

Although no render of the Pistachio model has been shared, the exclusive colour could introduce a softer pastel-inspired finish that stands apart from the darker shades commonly associated with premium smartphones. If accurate, it would continue Samsung’s recent trend towards lighter, more playful designs and could appeal to buyers looking for something less conventional.

The reported Lavender version also appears to fit this direction, offering another alternative to the black, grey and blue finishes that have traditionally dominated the flagship market.

Beyond its appearance, the leak also sheds light on the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s design. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is expected to retain the taller proportions seen on previous Fold models, this version is said to adopt a wider and shorter form factor.

The device is rumoured to feature a 5.5-inch external display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving it a broader shape when closed. Opening the handset reportedly reveals a 7.6-inch internal display that immediately presents content in a landscape orientation, creating a noticeably different experience from many existing foldable phones.

The wider layout suggests Samsung is continuing to explore different approaches to foldable design rather than simply making the device resemble a conventional smartphone. Combined with the reported colour options, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could offer a more distinctive identity within Samsung’s premium handset range.

As with any early leak, the reported colours and specifications remain unconfirmed. Samsung is expected to officially unveil its next generation of foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8, during its Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for 22 July 2026.
