British audio specialist Ruark has celebrated its 40th anniversary with a limited-edition version of its R410 all-in-one music system, combining premium materials with modern streaming and traditional audio connectivity.

Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the R410 Anniversary Edition features a handcrafted white oak cabinet, ebonised wood inlays and a matching dark grille.

Each system also carries a commemorative badge marking Ruark’s four decades in the audio industry.

The anniversary model retains the R410’s distinctive rectangular design, portrait-oriented high-resolution colour display and top-mounted RotoDial controller, which handles playback, volume, source selection and presets.

The screen displays album artwork, track details and system information, with an interface designed to resemble the way music services appear on smartphones.

Inside, the R410 Anniversary Edition uses two 100mm long-throw NS+ bass-mid drivers housed in optimised reflex enclosures, alongside two custom 20mm tweeters borrowed from Ruark’s MR1 Mk3 powered speakers.

A fully active 120W Class D amplification system powers the four drivers, while Burr-Brown digital-to-analogue converters and onboard audio processing are designed to deliver controlled bass, natural midrange and detailed high frequencies.

Streaming support includes Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in, while the system also supports high-resolution audio files at up to 24-bit/192kHz.

Its wired connections include HDMI ARC and eARC for use with a television, USB-C, optical and RCA inputs, as well as a built-in moving-magnet phono stage for connecting a turntable.

Ruark is also releasing a matching limited-edition R-CD100 CD transport with ebonised casework.

“The R410 Anniversary Edition brings together everything we care about – extraordinary sound, considered design and exquisite materials,” Ruark founder and managing director Alan O’Rourke said.

The Ruark R410 Anniversary Edition is priced at £1,399 in the UK and €1,599 in Europe. Australian pricing and availability have not yet been confirmed.
