RTI has rolled out an enhanced Sonos integration for its control systems.

The update adds native search to Sonos S2 devices, allowing users to search across all their streaming services directly from RTI.

It also brings ‘recently played’ history and playlist management to RTI touchscreens and apps.

The driver modernises authentication with OAuth and expands home-theatre control.

That translates to TV Audio Swap from compatible Sonos soundbars to Sonos Ace, Night Sound, and a four-level Speech Enhancement.

Integrators can also fold Sonos playback into multi-room scenes alongside lights and shades for one-tap routines.

Searching for your favourite song just got a little easier

The driver is available now via the RTI Integration Designer software.

The move also tracks Sonos’s updated Search API, which enables richer third-party search across streaming services used in custom control systems.

“The native search functionality, playlist support, home theatre control, and other new features further elevate the Sonos experience within the RTI control environment,” RTI Product Director Neal Ellsworth said.

“This enables integrators to build music systems fully tailored to their clients’ needs, while managed from the same intuitive interface from which they control their lighting, shades, climate, security, and other smart home features.”
