Pixel 10 Pro XL Beats iPhone 16 Pro Max in Camera Rankings
Google’s latest flagship smartphone, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, has secured a DxOMark camera score of 163, placing it fourth globally and ahead of Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Only Huawei’s Pura 80 Ultra, Oppo’s Find X8 Ultra, and Vivo’s X200 Ultra ranked higher.
The Pixel 10 Pro XL scored 165 in Photo and 160 in Video, cementing its reputation as a balanced all-rounder rather than a specialist in any one area.
The device’s versatile setup includes a 50MP main sensor (f/1.68, OIS), a 48MP ultra-wide (13mm, f/1.7), and a 48MP telephoto (5x zoom, f/2.8, OIS).
DxOMark testers praised the Pixel’s ability to deliver accurate exposure, natural colours, and wide dynamic range. The main camera earned an impressive 173 points, though some lens flare outdoors and noise in low light were noted.
Portrait bokeh was rated 160, with solid subject separation but occasional depth errors. The ultra-wide camera scored 158, offering sharp detail and a wide 13mm field of view, while the telephoto managed 141, strong at 5x zoom but weaker at medium ranges.

On video, the Pixel 10 Pro XL achieved 160 overall, with the main camera at 171. Footage displayed stable exposure, smooth colour rendering, and realistic skin tones. Stabilisation worked well when static, but walking shots showed some shake.
The ultra-wide video impressed with 145 points in daylight, but performance dipped indoors. Telephoto video, at 118, showed crisp detail at 5x zoom yet faltered at shorter focal lengths.
Use Case Scores
- Outdoor: 176
- Indoor: 165
- Portrait: 143
- Lowlight: 138
- Zoom: 134
The camera’s strengths include wide dynamic range, controlled noise in bright light, natural skin tones, reliable autofocus, and detailed 5x telephoto shots. Weaknesses remain in low-light noise, flare outdoors, and shaky walking video.
While Google’s previous Pixel 9 Pro briefly reached second place in DxOMark’s rankings, the new model slips to fourth. Still, the Pixel 10 Pro XL proves itself as a solid all-rounder camera phone – delivering consistently high-quality results across photo and video, even if it doesn’t dominate in any single category.
