Philips is reviving its iconic 1980s Moving Sound range as part of its centenary celebrations.

The collection, set to launch globally in the second quarter of 2026, reimagines the brand’s cassette-era classics with a modern twist, pairing neon retro design with the latest wireless tech.

The standout of the lineup is The Roller (pictured), a modern take on Philips’ original yellow boombox.

Now packing 60W of power, dual woofers, tweeters and passive radiators, it delivers more punch than its predecessor ever could.

The Roller also boasts Bluetooth 5.5 with Auracast, USB playback, a colourful display complete with a cassette animation, and 24 hours of battery life. An IP67 rating makes it festival- and beach-friendly.

For those who want even bigger sound, The Tube takes things further with 140W output, side-firing radiators and the ability to double as a power bank. Like The Roller, it supports Auracast and comes with a built-in light show controllable via the Philips Entertainment app.

On the personal audio side, Philips has brought back its lightweight on-ear headphones, now called MS1.

The design echoes the Walkman-era classics but adds Bluetooth connectivity, 40mm drivers and an AI-enhanced mic for clearer calls. They are available in the original sunshine yellow or black with pink accents.

Completing the lineup are the MS55 true wireless earbuds.

Despite their retro branding, these are thoroughly 2026, offering hybrid ANC, Spatial Audio, multipoint connection and 48 hours of battery life (with ANC off). The charging case even features a cassette-style display.

Pricing details are still under wraps, but Australians can expect the range to arrive mid-2026.
