Oppo’s Bubble Screen Steals Spotlight From Reno 16 Launch
Oppo has launched its Reno 16 series globally, led by the Reno 16 Pro, alongside a quirky magnetic second-screen accessory called the Oppo Bubble and new Enco Air5s earbuds.
The Reno 16 Pro is being pitched as a creator-focused Android handset, with a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP telephoto portrait camera and a 50MP front camera.
It also features a 6.32-inch OLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 Super chipset, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance and an 80W SuperVOOC charging system.
In Europe, the Reno 16 Pro is priced at €1,099, with a launch offer reducing it to €899 until July 31. Pre-orders are open now, with release scheduled for July 3.

The headline accessory is the Oppo Bubble, a 1.73-inch circular OLED touchscreen that attaches to the rear of compatible Oppo phones and acts as a selfie viewfinder or wireless camera remote.
The tiny 7mm-thick device connects wirelessly, has a 550mAh battery, a USB-C port for charging and a claimed range of around 10 metres. It can access the Oppo camera app, switch between zoom options and trigger photos or video.
However, the Bubble also highlights a major Android ecosystem problem: Oppo still has not built Qi2-style magnets into its phones. Users must rely on a magnetic case or stick an included magnetic ring to the back of the handset.

The accessory is also Oppo-only, working with the Reno 16 series and selected Reno and Find X models, limiting its appeal beyond existing Oppo customers. It is priced at €129.
Oppo also announced the Enco Air5s, its first semi-in-ear earbuds with active noise cancellation.
The earbuds weigh 3.9g each, feature 12mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 6.0, adaptive ANC, AI Translate, dual-device connectivity, IP55 water resistance and up to 48 hours of playback with the charging case.
Local Australian availability and pricing for the phone and earbuds have not yet been confirmed.
