Nothing’s CMF brand has expanded into the portable speaker market with the launch of two new Bluetooth speakers, the CMF Speaker S and Speaker M, offering up to 35W of audio output, long battery life and multi-speaker connectivity.

The two models are the first portable speakers from CMF and feature the brand’s distinctive geometric design, alongside Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity and IP68-rated dust and water resistance.

Both speakers support Stereo Mode, which allows two identical models to be paired for left and right channel audio, and Party Mode, which enables multiple compatible speakers to play music simultaneously.

Party Mode uses Auracast technology, meaning users can connect two or more supported speakers, including compatible models from other manufacturers.

The smaller CMF Speaker S features a custom-tuned 45mm full-range driver supported by two passive radiators. It delivers up to 10W RMS output and has a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz.

For users wanting more powerful sound, the larger CMF Speaker M combines a dedicated 25W woofer with a 10W tweeter, producing a total output of 35W RMS. Its frequency response extends from 60Hz to 20kHz, allowing it to reproduce lower bass frequencies than its smaller sibling.

Both speakers incorporate CMF’s adaptive Tuning algorithm, which continuously analyses audio playback and adjusts the sound output and equalisation settings in real time.

Users can also activate an Ultra Bass mode for more pronounced low frequencies or a Wide Soundstage mode designed to create a broader listening experience.

Additional sound customisation is available through the Nothing X app, which offers four EQ presets: Balanced, More Bass, More Treble and Voice.

Connectivity is another major focus, with both speakers supporting NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for simplified connections to compatible devices.

Dual-device connectivity allows either speaker to remain connected to two audio sources simultaneously, while USB-C audio support provides an alternative to wireless playback.

CMF has also included physical controls, with a tactile knob handling volume adjustments, playback, track selection and Ultra Bass activation. Dedicated buttons are provided for power, Bluetooth pairing and Auracast functionality.

Despite their differences in size and audio output, both speakers offer up to 18 hours of battery life at 50 per cent volume with Ultra Bass enabled.

Fast charging is also supported, with a 10-minute charge providing approximately one hour of playback.

The Speaker S and Speaker M will be available in four colours: white, turquoise, dark grey and orange, continuing CMF’s emphasis on bold and distinctive product design.

The CMF Speaker S is priced at A$119, while the more powerful Speaker M costs A$199 in Australia. Both speakers are available via Nothing’s online store.
