Nothing has already confirmed that a new “Flagship” product is coming this week, and a growing collection of leaks may have revealed what it is before the official announcement.

The company is widely expected to unveil the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro, a new pair of premium over-ear headphones that would sit above its existing Headphone 1 and Headphone (a). WinFuture has now published renders of the alleged headphones, while earlier leaks from Dealabs and a prematurely published Amazon Japan listing appear to have revealed much of the specification sheet.

If the leaks are accurate, the Headphone (1) Pro will feature an unusual three-driver setup on each side, with dedicated drivers for bass and midrange joined by an xMEMS driver for higher frequencies. Hi-Res Audio certification and LDAC support are also reportedly included.

Nothing is said to be working with London’s Metropolis Studios on the headphones’ tuning. Dealabs also reports that a new Flat EQ mode will offer a more neutral listening profile.

That could be an interesting addition given the sound of the original Headphone 1. Reviews found its overall presentation reasonably balanced, although its default tuning could sound flatter than rivals such as the Sony WH-1000XM6 and AirPods Max. Adjusting the EQ through the Nothing X app, though, made a noticeable difference.

Nothing also appears to be upgrading noise cancellation. The Headphone (1) Pro will reportedly use 10 microphones for adaptive ANC, compared with six on the regular Headphone 1, and will include a transparency mode and head-tracked spatial audio.

ANC was already one of the original model’s stronger features. In testing, the Headphone 1 delivered noise cancellation comparable to the Sony WH-1000XM5, although more expensive headphones still had an advantage.

Battery life could be another major selling point. The leaks claim up to 60 hours of listening time, although it remains unclear whether that figure applies with active noise cancellation enabled.

The leaked renders show the Headphone (1) Pro in black and white, with Nothing retaining its familiar transparent design language while giving the headphones a somewhat more restrained appearance than the original model. Physical controls also appear to be returning.

Materials reportedly include aluminum and scratch-resistant glass, while an IP52 rating would offer some protection against dust and splashes. Bluetooth 6.1 is expected to handle wireless connectivity, with USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack providing wired alternatives.

The biggest question may be price. Dealabs claims the Headphone (1) Pro will cost €349 in Europe and US$399 in the U.S.

That would make the Pro US$100 more expensive than the original Headphone 1, which launched at US$299, and twice the price of the US$199 Headphone (a) introduced earlier this year.

At US$399, Nothing would also be moving directly into premium headphone territory. The leaked price would put the Headphone (1) Pro US$50 below Sony’s WH-1000XM6, making improvements to sound quality, ANC and battery life particularly important if Nothing wants its new flagship to compete with the category’s established players.

Nothing is expected to reveal its new flagship on September 28, so it shouldn’t be long before we know how much of the leaked information is accurate.
