Nintendo Rumoured To Launch New Switch 2019

Nintendo is rumoured to launch a revamped version of its best-selling Switch console next year, featuring longer battery life, a brighter display panel and increased storage capacity.

As per gameranxthe rumours have emerged from GamingIntel, citing an anonymous source.

Whilst the credibility of the rumour remains slim, commentators forecast the revamped device to lift Switch sales, alongside the release of a new ‘core’ – not spin off – Pokemon game next year.

Last year, Pokemon Company President, Tsunekazu Ishihara, briefly alluded to a new ‘core’ Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch, slated for release late 2019.

It’s the first time a main series Pokemon game will come to a Nintendo home console, potentially in time for Christmas next year.

Whilst Ishihara’s comments were made mid-2017, Nintendo’s recent financials reveal a placeholder for a Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG in “late 2019”.

The timeline assumes the game has been in development for some time, and follows the recent launch of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
