Nintendo Doubles Switch Build
Nintendo plans to double production of its Switch games console due to unexpected strong demand. The popularity of Switch, which went on sale globally on March 3, is similar to the wave of popularity that hit Nintendo’s Wii system a decade ago.
Nintendo is now banking on Switch to deliver the company a badly needed hit after its previous console, the Wii U, fell far short of expectations.
The Switch is a hybrid gadget, designed for use in the living room and as a mobile gaming system. The company is planning to initially manufacture 16 million units.
