New Zelda Game By Nintendo Pegged To Be Biggest This Year

The new Nintendo ‘Zelda’ game is being pegged as the biggest game to come out this year, and has made ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ look like a “first draft.”

A review on IGN for ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,’ which has just be released for the Nintendo Switch, along with other reviews have earned the game a 96/100 on Metacritic.

It has been described as building on ‘Breath of the Wild’ “so thoroughly and transformationally that it feels like a revelation.”

The hype for this new release has been unprecedented, due to rave reviews and the success of ‘Breath of the Wild.’

This game takes place in the same world as ‘Breath of the Wild’ but a lot has changed. You again play as mute hero Link, who is on a quest to save the Kingdom of Hyrule from Ganon, a nasty creature. In this new edition, you explore the skies, and the caves beneath the kingdom, as well as the character Link having access to a whole range of new powers.

The new abilities have been described as “transformative, making combat and traversal feel more fun than in ‘Breath of the Wild.'” The Fuse skill can now be used in battles to “smoosh weapons together or attach bombs and ice jellies to your arrows, exploding and freezing whatever is in your path.”

There is an Ultrahand ability that turns Link into a character that is reminiscent of ‘Minecraft.’ Users are able to combine trees, rocks and gadgets (wings, rockets, fans) in order to create vehicles, robots and physics monstrosities that could potentially blow the user up.

There are also features called Recall. These let the user rewind time, and Ascend, skyrocketing up through any surface above the character.

One thing reviewers have notices is the amount of ‘Breath of the Wild’ “annoyances” have been fixed. One example is when the character is cooking, users are now able to select ingredients directly from a recipe page, and they can also discard old weapons if the inventory chest is full.

Users can now also add flamethrowers to their shield, or apples to their sword.

“Breath of the Wild’ was critically acclaimed when it was released, however, didn’t hit quite as hard as this new edition. It sold one million copies in the first month, however, has now sold over 30 million copies, bringing in new players through the purchasing of Nintendo Switches, which were released around the same time.

Nintendo has gone on to sell over 125 million Switch consoles, making the new ‘Tears of the Kingdom’ the much awaited game of players, maybe even becoming this year’s biggest hit.
