Nintendo Reveal Big Battery For New Switch
Nintendo has announced an updated version of its best-selling Switch console via its official twitter – with nearly double the battery life versus the original.
The company claims the battery life upgrade is substantial, with a single charge apparently lasting between 4.5-9 hours – compared to the original at 2.5-6.5 hours.
Apart from battery, the updated Switch appears to be largely unchanged in terms of system specs or looks.
The new Nintendo Switch is reportedly set for release at the end of August, and will go for roughly the same price as the current model.
The announcement comes just a week after Nintendo launched a Lite version of the popular console.
“The revised model of the flagship Nintendo Switch system includes the same look as the original, but it has a longer battery life,” a Nintendo representative told Gizmodo.
“The packaging for Nintendo Switch has also been given a new look.”
“Consumers should start seeing the new packaging on store shelves around mid-August, but that will vary by individual stores and locations.”
Alongside these announcements, Nintendo also plan to release two more pairs of Joy-Cons in October this year.
