LG ‘Q Stylus’ Takes On Samsung Galaxy Note

LG has taken on the success of Samsung’s Galaxy Note with the release of its new ‘Q Stylus’. Contrasting the Galaxy Note’s flagship price, the Q Stylus claims to be “easy on the wallet” – a “midrange” smartphone with “premium features”.

Australian pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed, available in either the Q Stylus+, Q Stylus or Q Stylusα

Starting in North America and Asia, the Q Stylus will launch this month on a “limited basis”, followed by other “key regions” in Q3.

Senior VP and Head of LG Mobile Business Division, Ha Jeung-uk, asserts the Q Stylus delivers “amazing value to consumers”, and is an example of LG’s promise to deliver a “wider selection” of devices this year with “premium features”.

The 6.2-inch LG Q Stylus includes a “no-nonsense” stylus, which is capable of recognising and recording handwritten notes even with the display off.

The stylus can also be used to capture images and videos.

The new Q Stylus claims to offer features previously available in “more expensive smartphones” – e.g. a QLens camera to take “online shopping [to] a whole new experience”. QLens will operate similarly to Samsung’s Bixby Vision or Google Lens, and identify images of fashion, landmarks, food and more.

The device features a 8MP front camera and 16MP rear camera, with ‘phase detection auto focus’.

Incorporating a fingerprint sensor, the Q Stylus offers IP68 water and dust protection, and utilises USB-C charging.
