New Galaxy A Phones Focus On AI, Camera And Long-term Support
Samsung has unveiled two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G, as it continues to push artificial intelligence features beyond its premium devices and into more affordable tiers.
The latest additions to the Galaxy A series introduce what Samsung calls “Awesome Intelligence”, a suite of AI-driven tools designed to simplify everyday tasks such as note-taking, photo editing and search. The company is positioning the launch as part of a broader effort to make AI features more widely available across its smartphone line-up.
Both devices run the latest One UI 8.5 software and bring new capabilities to apps that many users rely on daily. A key addition is voice transcription in the Voice Recorder app, which can convert recordings, calls or voicemail into text and even translate them. Another feature, AI Select, allows users to quickly extract text or content directly from the screen and move items between apps using drag and drop in multi-window mode.

Samsung has also expanded AI-powered photo editing tools. Object Eraser has been improved to deliver more natural results when removing unwanted elements from images. On the higher-end Galaxy A57 5G, a Best Face feature helps users select the best expressions in group photos, while Auto Trim simplifies video editing. Circle to Search with Google has also been upgraded to recognise multiple objects in a single image.
Camera performance remains a central focus. Both models feature a triple-camera system led by a 50MP main sensor, supported by ultra-wide and macro lenses. Samsung says improvements to image processing and its image signal processor help deliver clearer photos across different lighting conditions. Night photography has also been enhanced, aiming to produce more detailed results in low light.

The Galaxy A57 5G offers additional image processing upgrades, including better noise reduction and faster shutter speeds to capture moving subjects more clearly. AI-based scene optimisation and subject recognition are designed to improve portrait quality and maintain natural skin tones.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy A57 5G stands out with a slimmer design, a larger cooling system and a 5,000mAh battery that Samsung says can last up to two days, depending on usage. Both devices include Super AMOLED displays with improved brightness and visibility outdoors, supported by Vision Booster technology.
Durability has also been addressed, with both phones rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. Samsung is pairing this with long-term software support, offering up to six generations of Android and One UI upgrades along with six years of security updates.
Security features include Samsung Knox Vault, a hardware-based system designed to protect sensitive data, alongside tools such as a security dashboard, auto blocker and a new Private Album feature for storing personal media. The devices also introduce privacy alerts that notify users of potential risks related to data access or location tracking.

For families, Samsung is extending parental controls typically found on its flagship devices. Parents can manage screen time, restrict access to apps or content, and enable Samsung Kids mode, which creates a child-friendly interface with curated content and activities.
The Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G are set to be released globally on April 10. The A57 5G will be available in Awesome Navy and Awesome Lilac, starting at $749 for 128GB and $849 for 256GB. The A37 5G will be offered in Awesome Lavender and Awesome Charcoal, with pricing starting at $599 for 128GB.
The launch signals Samsung’s continued focus on bringing AI features to a broader audience, with mid-range devices now playing a larger role in that strategy.
