New 88″ Samsung QLED TV Has it All

Samsung has revealed an 88″ QLED TV that displays 100% colour volume, the price tag is tipped to be over $30K in Australia if released.

The first of the new Samsung creations has already gone on sale at Best Buy in the USA, it’s designed to appeal to the top end market

The TV comes with a 1.88mm, transparent optical cable, known as the Invisible Connection, allows it to be connected to peripheral devices without the typical messy cables.

A No Gap Wall-mount completes the QLED TVs design by allowing the screen to be mounted flush against the wall.

Samsung says the giant set was launched ‘as consumers continue to demand larger screens and premium TVs’

Samsung already offers its QLED TV line-up, which also includes 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch models as can be seen in this exclusive edition of SmartHouse.Click here to download.https://www.channelnews.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/SmartHouse-2017-Samsung-QLED_Page_01.png

When it was first shown off at the CES show in Las Vegas, Joe Stinziano, Executive VP of Electronics in America, said the QLED is set to give the ‘perfect viewing experience,’

It works by enhancing the firm’s pre-existing Quantum Dot Technology, which relies on precision wavelengths, and has optimized colour and light efficiency to prevent degradation over time.

According to the firm, it can support all of the DCI Colour space, meaning it achieves 100 percent colour volume to display images ‘exactly’ as content creators intended.

If this TV is a tad out of your price range the same technology can be found in the Q9, Q8, and Q7, these TV’s achieve peak luminance of 1,500-2,000 nits.

Samsung says the giant screen is bigger than four 43inch displays combined and the QLED is designed to create a viewing platform that blends in with your home décor – and it uses just a single ‘nearly invisible’ cable to connect all your devices.

Building off the concept of a ‘blended’ devices that better encapsulates viewers’ lifestyles, the firm also revealed a gapless wall-mount system that allows the TV to be hung and adjusted even after it’s been put in place.

‘At Samsung, we are aiming to expand our footprint in the ultra-premium TV market with our ultra-large QLED TV models that embody the perfect combination of technology and art,’ said Jongsuk Chu, Senior Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

‘With their superior picture quality and innovative features, we are confident that our QLED TV line-up will continue to drive sales and solidify Samsung’s leadership in the global TV market.’
