Netflix Inc. Co-Chief Executive Officer Ted Sarandos has discussed the company’s planned leap into the video games market, but admits there is no “hard deadline” for the launch.
Sarandos made these comments at the Code Conference in Beverly Hills, California, yesterday, where he also shot down many other rumours about the streaming giant, including that the company is looking into buying a cinema chain, and that Netflix may be acquired by another entity. Neither is likely, according to Sarandos, who notes that cinemas will survive, but become a more expensive outing for consumers.
The company is also “unlikely” to launch a music or a news service.
