Navman Launches Combined GPS & Dash-Cam Device
Navman has unveiled a new Drive Duo device that combines GPS functionality with dash-cam recording and safety capabilities.
The new Navman Drive Duo features a 5″ touchscreen along with a 140-degree wide angle lens dash-cam, and comes loaded with lifetime maps for Australia and New Zealand.
“You really do get the best of both worlds with the Drive Duo,” said Navman Australia MD Wendy Hammond.
“The device allows you to take advantage of Navman’s superior guidance and safety features such as Landmark Guidance that uses objects you can see through your windscreen to guide you, for example ‘in 150m turn left at the church into King Street’,” Hammond said
Spoken safety alerts and premium driver alerts can warn the driver about things like merging lanes and sharp corners, and the GPS also incorporates live traffic as well as the Zomato Restaurant Guide for nearby dining options.
On the dash-cam side of the Drive Duo, Full HD 1080p recording is available as well as a range of Advanced Driver Systems (ADAS) safety features.
These include lane departure alerts if the driver is veering out of the lane and front collision alerts if the driver is too close to the car in front.
“As dash-cams continue to increase in popularity it is more important than ever to own one because if you don’t have one and an incident occurs, the other party may be able to present stronger evidence than you can,” Hammond said.
The Navman Drive Duo will be available at all major electronics retailers from mid-August for RRP $279. More information can be found at the Navman website.
