Navman has launched the MiVue True 4K Pro Surround, Australia’s first dash cam to simultaneously record front, rear, and side impact zones, targeting the 68% of Australians planning domestic road trips this summer.

The revolutionary system features a front camera with True 4K Ultra HD resolution (8-megapixel sensor), a rear camera recording in True 2.5K Quad HD 1440P (5-megapixel sensor), and a True 2.5K cabin camera enclosed in the rear unit that captures side impact footage from within the vehicle.

The comprehensive coverage records sideswipes, multi-vehicle accidents, and rear-end collisions in crystal-clear resolution, providing evidence for insurance claims and deterring false accident claims.

The dash cam includes ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) alerts providing forward and rear collision warnings, lane departure warnings, and driver fatigue alerts after two hours of continuous driving.

Safety Camera Alerts cover speed cameras, red light cameras, and school zones, particularly useful in unfamiliar areas, plus warnings for accident blackspots and motorway speed zone changes.

Free monthly safety camera updates are available before trips.

Voice command enables hands-free control, while EZYSHARE via Wi-Fi instantly transfers incident footage to smartphones for quick sharing with police or insurance companies.

Super MP4 recording writes footage to the microSD card every two seconds, minimising file corruption risk.

The dash cam uses a super-capacitor instead of standard batteries for greater reliability in hot Australian summer temperatures.

Surround parking protection monitors all angles when parked at hotels, scenic areas, or unfamiliar locations.

This feature requires the optional Smartbox IV Accessory Kit (sold separately) and records hit-and-runs, theft, or other vehicle damage, eliminating CCTV footage searches or out-of-pocket repair costs.

According to a recent NRMA survey, 68% of respondents planned to travel domestically, with 45% choosing to drive.

“Road trips create many unforgettable memories, whether we are driving on roads that are surrounded by bushland, farmland, gorgeous oceans or exploring towns that are hidden gems,” said Wendy Hammond, Managing Director of Navman Australia.

“However, it is important to be prepared for the unexpected. The last thing you want during a relaxing getaway is to become victim to a false accident claim that can result in increased insurance excess. Plus, simply having a Dash Cam visible in your car can deter unpleasant bullying or aggressive road rage incidents.”

The MiVue True 4K Pro Surround is priced at $529 and includes a 128GB endurance microSD card.

The dash cam is available at major electronics retailers across Australia.
