Motorola is preparing to launch the Edge 70 on November 5, positioning the mid-range smartphone as an affordable alternative to Apple’s iPhone Air and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge with an ultra-thin 5.99mm chassis and aggressive pricing.

The Edge 70 features a 4,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, larger than the iPhone Air’s 3,149mAh and Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh, while maintaining its slim profile.

Charging speeds include 68W wired and 15W wireless support, with Motorola claiming up to two days of battery life.

The device uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Leaked Geekbench 6 CPU scores suggest performance matching the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 found in the Edge 60 Pro.

The 6.7-inch 1.5K pOLED display offers 120Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

The camera system comprises 50MP main and ultra-wide lenses on the rear, plus a 50MP selfie camera.

In China, where the phone is sold as the X70 Air, pricing starts at 2,599 yuan (approximately A$550) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and 2,899 yuan (approximately A$615) for 12GB + 512GB.

For international markets, Motorola appears to be offering launch promotions potentially worth over €550 through early-bird vouchers and regional offers.

The expected European price of €699 could drop into Google Pixel 9a territory with these incentives applied.

Based on European pricing, the phone could cost between A$1,200 and A$1,350.

The aggressive pricing and specifications position the Edge 70 as a near-flagship device competing in the mid-range segment.

The Edge 70 will debut in Europe first on November 5, with launches in India and the US expected by December.
