Motorola could be preparing to expand its Edge 70 smartphone family with the arrival of the long-rumoured Edge 70 Neo, after references to the unreleased device surfaced on the company’s own user forums.

The discovery came in a forum post inviting owners to participate in an Android 17 beta program. Rather than listing one of Motorola’s existing handsets, the post specifically referred to the Motorola Edge 70 Neo, a model that has yet to be officially announced.

Adding weight to the leak, the associated beta registration form also carries the Edge 70 Neo name. This suggests the listing may not simply be a typing error, although Motorola has not commented publicly on the apparent disclosure.

If genuine, the forum post could indicate that development of the handset is well advanced, with software testing already underway ahead of an official launch.

Motorola’s current Edge 70 lineup already includes the Edge 70, Edge 70 Max, Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Pro+, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Fusion+ and the flagship Edge 70 Ultra. Until now, however, there has been no sign of a Neo model joining the range.

The Neo branding has traditionally been reserved for Motorola’s more compact premium smartphones. Both the Edge 60 Neo and Edge 50 Neo featured relatively smaller displays than many competing Android handsets, appealing to buyers looking for flagship-style features in a more pocket-friendly design.

The Edge 60 Neo, for example, was equipped with a 6.36-inch display, continuing Motorola’s strategy of offering a compact alternative alongside its larger Edge models.

While no specifications have been revealed for the Edge 70 Neo, the appearance of the device in what appears to be an official beta testing program suggests an announcement may not be far away.

For now, Motorola has yet to confirm the existence of the handset, leaving the leaked forum listing as the strongest indication so far that another member of the Edge 70 family is on its way.
