Motorola Challenges Apple And Samsung With Bose-Tuned Earbuds And New Smartwatch
Motorola is making another push into the premium technology market, unveiling its Moto Buds Ultra 27 wireless earbuds and Moto Watch Fit 27 smartwatch alongside the new Signature 27 flagship smartphone.
The launches signal Motorola’s growing ambitions to challenge established rivals including Apple and Samsung, as the company expands its range of premium connected devices.
Leading the accessories line-up are the Moto Buds Ultra 27, Motorola’s most advanced wireless earbuds to date, featuring Bose-tuned audio, adaptive noise cancellation and AI-powered translation.
Each earbud combines an 11mm dynamic driver with a dedicated balanced armature, designed to deliver powerful bass, detailed highs and improved overall sound quality.
Bose SoundDesign tuning and QuietControl active noise cancellation are included, with the latter automatically adjusting to surrounding noise levels. A Transparency Mode allows users to hear what’s happening around them without removing the earbuds.
The earbuds also support Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Head Tracking, although some features require a compatible Motorola smartphone.
Motorola has equipped each earbud with three high-SNR microphones and a dedicated Voice Pickup Unit to improve call quality and voice recordings.
Among the biggest additions is AI Live Translate, which enables users to hear translated conversations through their earbuds when paired with a supported Motorola smartphone.
Motorola’s Qira AI assistant is also integrated, allowing users to access information and assistance by pressing and holding the left earbud. Hands-free “Hey Qira” activation is expected in the coming months.
Other features include head gestures for answering or rejecting calls, automatic playback pausing when the earbuds are removed, dual-device connectivity and Audio Share.
Battery life is rated at eight hours on a single charge, extending to 37 hours with the charging case. Wireless charging, Google Find Hub support and IP57 water and dust resistance are also included.
Motorola has also introduced the Moto Watch Fit 27, a fitness-focused smartwatch featuring a 1.85-inch gOLED display with peak brightness of 1,500 nits.

The watch combines a lightweight aluminium frame with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a rotating crown and a customisable button.
Fitness tracking is powered by Polar technology, providing heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen measurements, sleep analysis, stress tracking and automatic recognition of more than 100 workout types.
Dual-frequency GPS, Bluetooth calling and Motorola Qira support are also included.
Motorola claims battery life of up to 12 days with the always-on display switched off, falling to around seven days when enabled.
The smartwatch also carries IP68 and 5ATM water resistance ratings.
Both devices are scheduled to reach the US market in the coming months, although Motorola has yet to confirm Australian pricing or release dates.
UK pricing has been announced at £179.99 for the Moto Buds Ultra 27 and £99.99 for the Moto Watch Fit 27.
