Tivoli Audio has given its popular Model One BT radio a fresh look, introducing four new colours inspired by Japanese design, natural materials and minimalist interiors.

The new Naturals Collection features Sage, Eucalyptus, Ginger and Angora finishes, offering a contemporary update to the company’s distinctive wood-cabinet radio without changing its familiar design.

The collection was developed by Tivoli Audio CEO and Chief Designer Paul DePasquale, who drew inspiration from his travels through Japan.

DePasquale said he was particularly impressed by the way Japanese homes, hotels, cafes and shops combine natural materials, subtle colours and organic textures to create relaxed living spaces.

The new finishes reflect that approach, with Sage offering a muted green, Eucalyptus a lighter botanical shade, Ginger a warm earthy colour and Angora a softer neutral option.

First launched in 2000, the Model One has become one of Tivoli Audio’s signature products, combining traditional radio controls with a minimalist design that has remained largely unchanged for more than two decades.

The Model One BT retains the original’s three-knob interface, analogue AM/FM tuner and real wood-veneer cabinet, while incorporating Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity for streaming music from smartphones and other compatible devices.

A built-in full-range speaker provides audio reproduction from a compact enclosure designed to blend into bedrooms, kitchens and living areas.

According to DePasquale, the enduring popularity of the original walnut-and-beige Model One BT, particularly in Japanese homes, helped inspire the new collection.

He said the goal was to introduce a modern, relaxed appearance that would complement a wide variety of interiors without losing the product’s established identity.

Tivoli Audio has also emphasised its efforts to reduce its environmental footprint through recycled packaging, reduced plastic use and responsibly sourced wood for its cabinets.

The company also supports reforestation projects through its Tivoli Together initiative, working with organisations including One Tree Planted.
