In October, ChannelNews reported that the CEO of Swann Communications, Alex Talevski, was departing the company.

Today, Morse Micro has announced the appointment of Talevski as Senior Vice President of Platform, Products and AI. The company describes itself as the global leader in Wi-Fi HaLow silicon solutions.

Talevski will open Morse Micro’s third Australian office, located in Melbourne. He will lead development of reference designs and products that are powered by Wi-Fi HaLow. His remit is to push the company’s IoT 2.0 vision, where connected devices are no longer passive endpoints but instead become intelligent and autonomous. He will also oversee a unified system stack that lets OEM and developer partners build scalable, robust and energy efficient devices on Wi-Fi HaLow.

“Alex brings exceptional experience across imaging, AI and embedded systems,” said Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Micro. “As connected devices become more perceptive and adaptive, his background in camera technology and AI will be instrumental in driving our platform into the next era of IoT.”

Talevski previously held several senior leadership positions at Swann Communications, where he drove the camera and platform technologies that underpin many current smart home and industrial deployments.

“The future of IoT will be defined by device intelligence that sees, thinks and acts,” Talevski said. “Wi-Fi HaLow unlocks the bandwidth, range and efficiency needed to make that vision real. I am thrilled to join Morse Micro at such a pivotal moment, and to help shape the platform that will enable the next generation of AI powered IoT 2.0 devices.”
