Mobile Gaming Spending Rises Despite Lockdowns Easing

Mobile gaming continues to be a growth area, as spending rose 10 per cent in June despite COVID-19 lockdown restrictions being lifted in many parts of the world.

According to figures from Sensor Tower, each of the top ten games generated in excess of US$100 million, with the entire market raking in US$7.3 billion during the month, on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Top game Honor of Kings by Tencent reached $277 million, a rise of 21 per cent. As Sensor Tower note, 95.6 per cent of this revenue was generated in China. As third-party Android stores proliferate the Chinese market, the actual totals would be much higher.
