Mass Recall On Yeti Gear Sold In Australia Through Amazon

US product regulators have recalled 1.9 million Yeti coolers and gear cases because magnets can detach from them, potentially causing injury or death.

Users should immediately stop using the four recalled products and contact Yeti regarding refunds.

It’s said that the closures on the products can fail, causing the magnets to detach.

Then, if swallowed, two or more high-powered magnets can attract to each other or another metal object and get stuck in a digestive system, causing perforations, twisting and blockage of the intestines. This could result in infection, blood poisoning and death.

The products in question are the Sidekick dry gear case, M20 soft backpack cooler and M30 soft cooler, version 1.0 and 2.0.

The products were available from March 2018 to January 2023. The firm have received 1399 reports of the magnet-lined closures degrading or failing, including reports of missing or detached magnets.

Yeti can be contacted through [email protected].
