Marshall has unveiled a limited-edition Jimi Hendrix-inspired collection to mark 60 years since the legendary guitarist first plugged into one of the company’s amplifiers.

The Marshall x Hendrix 60th Anniversary Collection includes a hand-built 1959 JMH Half Stack amplifier, a redesigned Acton III Bluetooth speaker and a custom Dunlop Fuzz Face distortion pedal.

At the centre of the launch is the 1959 JMH Half Stack, based on Hendrix’s original Marshall setup and manufactured at the company’s Bletchley factory in the UK.

The amp pairs a 1959 Handwired head with a 1960 AJMH 4×12 angled cabinet and features a black-and-purple cosmic swirl finish, silver detailing, and Hendrix-inspired “all-seeing eye” badging.

Marshall has also refreshed its Acton III Bluetooth speaker with crushed velvet materials, purple LED lighting, and silver accents inspired by Hendrix’s stage style and fascination with science fiction.

The speaker even includes startup and shutdown sounds sampled from rare Hendrix recordings, including an instrumental version of Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland).

The accompanying Fuzz Face distortion pedal, produced by Dunlop and available exclusively with the amp stack, carries the same psychedelic oil-on-water design theme.

Marshall says the collection celebrates the long-standing relationship between the brand and Hendrix, whose use of Marshall stacks helped define the sound of late-1960s rock music.

“Marshall built the amps, Hendrix made them scream,” the company said.

Terry Marshall, co-founder of Marshall Amplification, described Hendrix as “a real force of nature” whose influence helped elevate both the music industry and the Marshall brand globally.

The company has hinted more Hendrix-themed products could arrive later this year as part of the ongoing anniversary celebrations.
