A leaked internal survey conducted by Microsoft shows that just 47 per cent of staffers would remain at the company if they received a comparable job offer from a rival.

These figures, from an internal survey conducted in May, show a major drop in workplace satisfaction since last November, when a similar survey showed 70 per cent of staffers would stay in the same scenario.

Of course, a lot has happened at Microsoft this year to rattle the confidence of staffers.

In January, Microsoft sacked 10,000 workers and pivoted its entire business model to revolve around artificial intelligence, both of which are likely to make employees nervous about their futures at the company.

Employees were also informed of wage freezes, a reduction in bonuses and stock awards, and instructed they must come into the office at least 50 per cent of the time.
