LG’s New Laptops Use AI To Hide Your Work From Wandering Eyes

LG Electronics have today announced the launch of their new range of Gram premium laptops for 2022. Packed with offerings and features that the company claim reflect their heritage and identity, the Gram range combines premium visuals, high performance, and enhanced portability to deliver a product that is suited to almost anyone.

The 2022-Gram line-up is made up of seven new models, with laptops in 14”, 15”, 16” and 17”, as well as two gram 2-in-1 devices and a brand-new portable monitor known as +View

LG have established themselves as providers of premium displays in the TV, monitor and laptop market, and the company says that their new range is no different. The entire range features 16:10 WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) resolution IPS panels, capable of 99 DCI-P3 colour space coverage that results in incredibly sharp, clear and lively visuals. The displays now feature anti-glare technology, reducing the visual disturbance caused by harsh sun and lighting.

The Gram range houses a variety of 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, as well as Gen4 NVMe™ SSDs and low-voltage LPDDR5 RAM. The result is 22% better performance than the Gram range of 2021.

For their 2022 Gram range, LG have improved security and convenience with their Mirametrix ® AI software. Mirametrix will detect when a user steps away from their laptop, and will immediately lock the screen. Furthermore, if it detects that someone is standing over the users shoulder, it will blur onscreen content. For additional convenience, if a user is using multiple displays, it will detect which display is being looked at, and move the cursor and the current window to that screen.

Seo Young-Jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions company has expressed his excitement surrounding the latest Gram range and their continued innovation.

“The 2022 gram series honours the brand’s identity and heritage with supreme portability, outstanding performance and optimized user experiences,” he said. “[The new range is] ideal for dynamic people on the move, LG gram products are designed to maximize productivity no matter where you are or what you’re working on.”

The 2022 LG Gram range will rollout globally during the second quarter of 2022. Specs of the new range can be found below.
