Oppo’s rumoured Reno X smartphone is shaping up to be an unconventional flagship, with the latest leak pointing to an 8,000mAh battery, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M processor and two 200-megapixel rear cameras.

The latest details add to earlier reports of Oppo developing a widescreen smartphone that breaks away from the tall, narrow displays currently on the market.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the latest engineering prototype features MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9600M chipset, alongside two high-resolution Samsung camera sensors. The phone’s final name remains unconfirmed, although previous leaks have suggested Oppo Reno X.

The reported battery capacity has also increased from 7,000mAh in an earlier leak to 8,000mAh.

As reported previously, the handset is tipped to feature a 6.35-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio.

This would give the device a noticeably wider shape than most current smartphones, which typically use taller displays, a design that could appeal to users who regularly watch videos, play games or browse content in landscape orientation.

An earlier Oppo release, the Find N6.

The prototype is also rumoured to feature an 8T LTPO panel, which can adjust its refresh rate to balance smooth visuals with power efficiency, and ultrasonic fingerprint recognition.

Photography could be another major selling point. The latest leak suggests Samsung’s ISOCELL HPE and HP5 sensors as candidates for the two 200-megapixel cameras.

One is expected to serve as the primary camera, while the other could be paired with a periscope telephoto system for enhanced zoom.

The new handset could launch in China during the first quarter of 2027, potentially alongside Oppo’s Find N7 foldable smartphone.

However, Oppo has not officially confirmed the Reno X name, specifications, pricing or release date. The reported details remain based on an engineering prototype, so the final hardware could change before launch.Â
