LG To Roll Out New Connected Home Platform at IFA 2019

LG is set to use the 2019 IFA show in Berlin to roll out a new connected home eco system in partnership with LUMI Technology.

The Korean Company who already has their ThinQ for LG devices spanning mobile phones. dishwashers and TV’s is set to offer a new level of connected home technology built around sensors.

At this stage it’s not known whether LG will appoint a distributor to sell the new IoT ecosystem which allows multiple connectivity including humidifiers air conditioning systems.
What LG is investing in LUMI’s Aqara sensor technology detects changes in indoor environments like humidity level, temperature, and movement of doors.

LUMI’s advanced Aqara sensor technology will save energy and offer a more safe and convenient solution for homeowners claims LG executives.

Users can create customised settings for their LG electronics using the Aqara sensor, like programming a standard temperature for their home.

The sensor will detect the temperature and humidity status of the area and adjust the air conditioning or open the windows accordingly, the technology knows whether anyone is at home.

LG and LUMI’s concept for the “connected home of the future” will be on display at IFA 2019 from Sept. 6-11 in Hall 18.

LG will use one of its dehumidifiers to demonstrate how the LUMI technology can be used to maintain an optimal temperature setting for clothes.

Also, on display will be LG’s WK7 intelligent speaker connected to an Aqara LED Light Bulb. Users can say the words “cinema mode” to create the appropriate atmosphere for their home theatre.
