LG Ramps Up Voice Enabled Appliances
LG Electronics has ramped up its range of voice-enabled appliances, with new products scheduled to hit over two dozen markets by the start of Q2 this year.
Whilst local pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed, Australia is currently one of only five other countries with LG voice recognition appliance support.
The Korean giant has announced it’s expanding its voice enabled home appliances – compatible with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa – from six markets to twenty one countries by April.
“Our aggressive strategy and drive for excellence will bring voice-enabled AI to more homes this year than any other manufacturer and this is something we are immensely proud of,” asserts Song Dae-hyun, President of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solutions.
The company affirms it’s working closely with artificial intelligence personnel from Amazon and Google.
Integration claims to support “conversational voice commands” with appliances including washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, air purifiers, ovens, dishwashers and vacuum cleaners.
LG claims users can connect their Google Home or Amazon Echo to its smart home appliances with “just one sentence.”
Voice commands include checking the time remaining on a washing machine cycle, adjusting air conditioner temperature, checking dinner in the oven and more.
