Lenovo To Take On Surface Pro With Superior Display + Better Specs

As Microsoft moves to launch new Surface-branded devices following a spate of problems with prior Surface Tablets,Lenovo has moved to take them on with the IdeaPad Miix 720 which has a significantly superior display screen.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720 when launched in Australia, will come with some upgraded internals, including 16GB RAM and up to a 1TB SSD.

It also has a 2,880 x 1,920 display, which is a higher resolution than the Surface Pro’s 2,736 x 1,824, and will include Intel’s latest Kaby Lake i3, i5, and i7 processors.Lenovo_logo_red

And if that wasn’t enough of an upgrade, the 720 will come featuring a USB Type-C port which will also allow users to charge the tablet.

Lenovo has provided a couple of legacy USB ports for those not yet ready to go full USB-C, along with its watchband hinge on the kickstand.

WinFuture claims the new Miix comes with an iris scanner, which will let users unlock the device with their eyes, much like the now defunct Galaxy Note 7.

Other features include Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a stylus with up to 2,048 pressure levels.

ChannelNews understands that the new device will be shown at CES 2017.
