Home > Appliances > Kogan Tops Complaints Register

Give ‘em marks for consistency. Online retailer Kogan has reportedly topped the NSW Fair Trading complaints register in December 2019, after also scoring a dismal first place in this category in January, February, March and May.

Fair Trading says Kogan led the way in this category by a wide margin in those months. Most of the complaints are said to have related to electrical goods, electronics, whitegoods and gas appliances, with the main problems concerning the quality – or lack thereof – of the goods involved.

Apple and Samsung Electronics each scored 22 complaints. Most of Apple’s complaints related to both quality of goods and quality of service, while Samsung’s complaints were mainly about the quality of goods.

Retailer JB Hi-Fi was at fourth place with 21 complaints, concerning laptops, smartphones and electricals, electronics, whitegoods and gas appliances

NSW Fair Trading – a State Government agency – says it works to ensure that the marketplace is ethical, fair and efficient “ in the interests of all consumers and businesses in NSW”.
