Klipsch Brings Dolby Atmos To New Speaker Range

Klipsch has announced the launch of two new Reference Dolby Atmos enabled home theatre speakers.

Extending the brand’s existing lineup of speakers with Dolby Atmos support, the Klipsch R-26FA tower speaker is described as an “all-in-one solution”, while the Klipsch R-14SA elevation speakers can add Dolby Atmos to existing speakers or be used as a standard side surround sound speaker.

“As demand for Dolby Atmos technology has grown, we are excited to offer a wider range of options that deliver this immersive and emotive sound experience with all the power, detail and emotion that Klipsch is known for,” said Klipsch vice president and general manager, professional and component speaker solutions Rob Standley.

Controlled directivity and Klipsch’s proprietary Tractrix horn technology allowed both new products to meet the requirements of Dolby Atmos. The Klipsch R-26FA features an integrated height channel that allows sound to be reflected off a ceiling, key to the “overhead” component of Dolby Atmos sound.

Klipsch also said Tractrix technology, combined with the copper spun Injected Molded Graphite woofers and Linear Travel Suspension tweeters of the speakers, produces maximum speaker efficiency.

Pricing and availability for Australia hasn’t been confirmed, but both new speakers are available now in the US. The R-26FA tower speaker is priced at US$599 ($750) each and the F-14SA elevation speaker at US$399 ($500) for a pair.
