Kaspersky To Testify In Congress

Eugene Kaspersky the Russian founder and CEO of security software vendor Kaspersky Labs – has accepted an invitation to to testify before the US Congress over the security of his company’s products.

The hearing before the US House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology is also expected to cover Kaspersky’s alleged relationship with the Russian government.

The hearing is scheduled for September 27, though Kaspersky’s appearance will depend on the US embassy in Moscow expediting his visa application.

This all comes after the US Department of Homeland Security last week issued an order requiring all federal government agencies to identify and remove any Kaspersky software running on their networks.
