Harman Audio has used High End Vienna 2026 to unveil two new JBL flagship loudspeakers, the Summit Everest and Summit K2, as the company marks JBL’s 80th anniversary.

The new models are the successors to JBL’s long-running Project Everest and Project K2 speakers. They now sit at the top of the five-model JBL Summit Series, alongside Summit Makalu, Summit Pumori and Summit Ama.

Harman claims the new Summit range is the most technically advanced loudspeaker family JBL has produced for residential audio applications.

The Summit Everest (below) is a 3.5-way floor-standing loudspeaker using three JBL D2820 2-inch dual-diaphragm compression drivers, a patent-pending 3-into-1 expansion manifold and a large-format Sonoglass HDI horn.

It also features dual 10-inch Differential Drive mid-bass drivers and dual 15-inch Differential Drive woofers using JBL’s Hybrid Carbon Cellulose Composite Cone technology.

The Summit K2 (below) is a 15-inch three-way floor-standing model, using three D2815 1.5-inch compression drivers, a 10-inch mid-bass driver and a 15-inch woofer.

Both models include JBL’s MultiCap crossover network, support single-wire, bi-amp/bi-wire and tri-amp/tri-wire connectivity, and use curved-wall, braced and damped cabinet construction.

The speakers also come with JBL / IsoAcoustics isolation feet, rhodium-plated binding posts, carbon fibre detailing and OCC silver-plated copper internal wiring.

Finishes include high-gloss black with Summit Platinum accents or Macassar Ebony veneer with Summit Gold detailing.

Global availability is scheduled for later in 2026 through authorised JBL Summit retailers.

Pricing is set at US$159,990 a pair for Summit Everest and US$99,990 a pair for Summit K2.

JBL, founded in 1946 by James B. Lansing, is also marking its anniversary with global events, digital content and a JBL Playback Gallery roadshow.

“For 80 years, JBL has been defined by an uncompromising pursuit of acoustic excellence,” said David Tovissi, Vice President and General Manager, Harman Luxury Audio.

“With Summit Everest and Summit K2, we are honouring four generations of legendary engineering while introducing technologies that move the state of the art forward.”
