JBL has unveiled its latest Live Series headphones in Australia, introducing the new JBL Live 780NC over-ear and Live 680NC on-ear models.

The new headphones, which arrive locally on May 13 through JB Hi-Fi and JBL Australia, feature upgraded adaptive noise cancelling, Hi-Res Audio support and up to 80 hours of battery life.

At the centre of the launch is JBL’s updated True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 technology, which uses AI-trained algorithms and real-time noise filtering to reduce background distractions. The over-ear Live 780NC includes six microphones for ANC, while the on-ear 680NC uses four.

Both models are equipped with 40mm dynamic drivers and support JBL Spatial Sound 3.0 and LDAC wireless audio for compatible devices. JBL is also pushing personalisation through its Personi-Fi 3.0 sound tuning and customisable touch controls via the JBL Headphones app.

HARMAN Asia Pacific General Manager and Vice President of Consumer Audio Grace Koh said the new range was designed to combine style and performance for users across busy urban environments.

“By integrating AI-trained noise cancellation and Hi-Res Audio, we are ensuring that our consumers across the region, whether they are navigating a busy city commute or working remotely, are able to experience a premium, distraction-free soundtrack to their day,” she said.

JBL has also redesigned the physical look and feel of the range, introducing slimmer and lighter builds with foldable metal hinges, soft-touch materials and a broader colour selection including green, purple and orange alongside more traditional black, white and beige options.

The headphones also support the optional JBL Smart TX wireless transmitter, allowing direct connection to in-flight entertainment systems and touchscreen-based EQ controls.

The JBL Live 780NC is priced at $299.95, while the JBL Live 680NC comes in at $249.95.
