LG’s 4K TV Undercuts Sony’s By 5 Thousand Dollars
Sony and LG are squaring off with the introduction of their new 4K televisions. The playing field is level with each contender spanning 84 inches, using LED backlit LCD panels and employing similar audio and visual technologies, including software that upscales image quality to accommodate their 3,840 by 2,160 resolution.
But whereas LG’s 84LM9600 has a $20,000 US price tag, Sony’s XBR-84X900 will cost $US5,000 more. For what?
