iOS 17 Upgrade Draining Battery On iPhones
iPhone users have reported the new iOS 17 upgrade is causing extreme battery drainage; however, experts claim it can take hours to days for an update to be finalised.
“iOS 17 is a Battery Killer. Can’t wait for iOS 17.0.1 already!” said one user.
“OMG THE IOS 17 BATTERY DRAIN IS INSANEEE,” another wrote.
“The new iOS 17 is really draining my battery bad,” a third user noted.
iOS 15 was released back in 2021, and ever since, iPhone users have cried poor battery life after they updated their phones. The same thing happened, yet again, when iOS 16 was released.
The upgrade installation is taxing the battery, and it’s been reported to take “hours or even days” for update background tasks to complete.
Experts have recommended using the phone normally for a few days and wait out the short-lived battery impacts, which also leads to some apps becoming incompatible and temporarily useless.

Updating could also result in older iPhones becoming sluggish, and some iOS 17 features might not be available.
Debuting on Monday, iOS 17 includes features like contact card personalisation for calls, video voicemails for FaceTime and NameDrop, live voicemail transcriptions, and a touch-free way to share contacts.
One brand new function is called Check In. It allows users to alert friends/family when they’ve reached a destination, prompting safety concerns that it could be misused.
Some have claimed Check In provides peace of mind, while others are saying it could be abused by “controlling partners.”
The update arrived just days before the iPhone 15 models were launched.
