Hisense has become the first TV maker to showcase Dolby Vision 2, unveiling it at IFA Berlin on its new 85-inch RGB-MiniLED TV.

Dolby Vision 2 builds on the original HDR format with sharper cinematic motion, smarter content optimisation and environmental awareness that adjusts picture quality to room conditions.

Hisense confirmed the tech will roll out to its RGB-MiniLED range via over-the-air updates.

The demo also signposted what’s coming to the company’s 116-inch RGB-MiniLED TV, previewed at CES.

Powered by MediaTek’s Pentonic 800 chip, the mega-screen supports four HDMI 2.1 ports, 4K gaming at 165Hz, and next-gen Wi-Fi 7 streaming.

Hisense says its proprietary RGB-MiniLED backlight system delivers up to 8,000 nits brightness and 100% BT.2020 colour gamut – edging closer to OLED’s accuracy but with far higher brightness.

The move matters because Dolby Vision 2 has never been seen in a consumer TV until now, putting Hisense ahead of rivals including TCL, LG and Samsung in the premium big-screen race.

Alongside the tech showcase, Hisense announced it will return as an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2026, marking its third consecutive tournament partnership.

With the World Cup expanding to 48 teams across three host nations – USA, Mexico and Canada – Hisense says its displays will bring the action into living rooms with unmatched clarity and scale.

IFA also saw Hisense broaden its “AI Your Life” portfolio.

Beyond TVs, highlights included a 21-inch AI-powered PureFlat smart fridge designed as a kitchen hub, a new TriChroma Laser Cinema L9Q projector, and the U8 S Pro Air Conditioner with intelligent climate control and air purification.

Catherine Fang, VP of Hisense Group, said the brand’s mission is to “push display boundaries” while delivering immersive, personalised experiences.

FIFA’s chief business officer Romy Gai added the collaboration will ensure fans experience “an unprecedented World Cup for billions around the world.”
